Salmon with a Red Wine Sauce

A few weeks ago I posted my recipe for Salmon with a Red Wine Sauce. This elegant dish delivers exceptional flavor — the salmon turns tender and practically melts in your mouth.

I initially suggested it as a perfect choice for Valentine’s Day, a special occasion, or a memorable dinner when you want to impress guests. After receiving several emails asking for tips, I made a short video to demonstrate the technique and make the preparation even easier to follow.

The recipe itself is straightforward. You can make the sauce ahead of time, chill it, and gently rewarm it before serving. The salmon, however, is best cooked just before you sit down so it’s warm and able to absorb the flavors of the sauce.

For side dishes, I recommend keeping things light and fresh. A simple green salad, roasted vegetables, or asparagus complement the richness of the fish. Try pairing the salmon with my Farro & Arugula Salad, roasted broccolini, or Mashed Red Potatoes with Crème Fraîche. For dessert, the Decadent Chocolate Valentine Day Truffles make a lovely finish. A glass of champagne or a crisp white wine also pairs well and helps set the mood.

If salmon isn’t your preference, fresh tuna prepared similarly would work beautifully with the red wine sauce.
