Hello everyone — I’m easing back into a normal blogging rhythm and wanted to share this post I’ve been refining over the past few days. Stepping away from regular recipe posts gave me space to learn, reflect, and share resources about systemic racism on other platforms. In returning, I wanted to both acknowledge what’s happening in the world and highlight talented Black creators by sharing their approachable, low-effort vegan recipes. These dishes are meant to nourish and comfort while supporting diverse voices in food.

The recent weeks have brought a surge of heartbreaking news about police brutality and injustice, and many of us—especially Black communities—are feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. At the same time, people everywhere are absorbing a flood of new information and history. That emotional and mental load can easily lead to burnout, so it’s important to take care of ourselves practically: by eating well and making space for rest and reflection.

Eating nourishing meals doesn’t have to be complicated. Below is a curated list of low-effort vegan recipes—from breakfast to dinner, plus snacks and desserts—that are reliable, comforting, and simple to prepare. These recipes come from a variety of bloggers, many of whom are Black creators or those amplifying diverse food traditions. I’ll be donating the ad revenue from this post to the ACLU, and a meaningful way to support the creators listed here is to visit their sites and give them pageviews.

Featured bloggers in this roundup include a mix of vegan and plant-forward cooks who consistently deliver accessible recipes: Baum Ass Foods, Delightful Adventures, From the Comfort of My Bowl, Healthier Steps, I Can You Can Vegan, Jessica in the Kitchen, Make It Dairy Free, Orchids and Sweet Tea, That’s Chelsea, Vegan, What?, and Yes Baby I Like It Raw. Each one brings a different perspective and set of flavors—please consider exploring their sites and trying a recipe or two.

I encourage readers to intentionally follow and support creators whose backgrounds and perspectives differ from their own. Food blogging and vegan spaces can be disproportionately white, so amplifying diverse voices matters. I also invite continued learning about the systems and histories that shape current events. On my profile I’ve saved a highlight of informative Instagram stories that cover systemic racism, statistics, and historical context—resources that helped me learn and reflect.
